Dietary Services

Each meal is planned and prepared with great care to meet your dietary needs. Your doctor determines the diet you will receive during your hospital stay. If you have special dietary needs or restrictions, a dietitian will discuss your menu with you. Please inform the dietitian if you have any food allergies.

Various beverages (juices, tea, laban, and milk) are available for patients on each floor between meals. The patient’s authorized companion will be provided with free meals. Instruction on discharge for patients with dietary restrictions is an important part of our service. The dietitian will help you and your family members understand why your special diet is necessary, and how to plan and follow the diet at home. You may not bring you own food into the hospital.

Patients of all ages are served. Special assessment and diet therapy are prescribed for patients with diabetes and other chronic illnesses as well as for those with nutritional deficiencies, such as anemia. Age-specific nutritional assessment and care are provided to children and older adults as they are especially at nutritional risk.
